It is not surprising that most memories about healthcare will involve a key person or people. After all, our encounters—the ones that really make an impression—are based on interactions with other individuals. It's not the hospital, the clinic, or the laboratory that we recall. It is the people we interacted with who made a difference. We received responses from almost 2,000 healthcare consumers on a web-based survey. The respondents were asked to describe three "happy times in healthcare" that they had experienced. Most stories did have a focus on the individual and values of compassion, caring, making the system easier, and willingness of healthcare providers to spend time with their patients. Perhaps reading positive experiences of others will help you to better visualize your own positive experiences in healthcare. Recent Episodes
